Cycle Start-up – Program and Entry Points for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
During cycle start-up, the programs listed in the previous year’s application, and the corresponding entry points, automatically transfer to the new cycle year.
The system advances the entry points to keep in line with the cycle (i.e., if the current cycle is 2026 and an entry point is fall 2026 at cycle roll-over, the system will change fall 2026 to fall 2027 as the 2027 cycle begins).
- For graduate studies only: Some institutions have provided a set of inactive dates for both domestic and international entry points for cycle start-up that are embedded in our cycle roll scripts (i.e., an expiry of November 1, 2026, will change to November 1, 2027). All other graduate institutions will need to provide those dates when the graduate spreadsheets are sent to the institutions in the spring.
- Graduate spreadsheets must be returned to [email protected] by mid-July, before the opening of the new cycle.
- Graduate spreadsheets must be returned to [email protected] by mid-July, before the opening of the new cycle.
- For undergraduate contracts only: A February 1 expiry date is populated for the winter entry point and July 1 for the spring entry point of the current cycle. There are no expiry dates set against any other entry points.
- When the inactive date has passed, the now inactive entry point automatically “falls off” the enrollment date drop-down box on the Program Details screen for all future program selections. If an expired or deleted entry point was chosen prior to the expiry, it is possible to submit the application with this entry point.
If you require an active entry point to open at a future date, enter the desired future date in the Entry Pt Active/Inactive Date column in the spreadsheet.

Closing Programs
- A closed program is visible to the applicant in the program listings but cannot be selected (in the Select Programs section).
- The program is displayed without further links and is marked “Closed” in red text next to the program title.
- Applicants that currently have a closed program as a selection in their application and have not reached the “I verify and agree” screen will receive an error message during the “Submit” process that instructs them to remove the program.
Unpublishing Programs
- An unpublished program is not visible to the applicant in the program listings (in the Select Programs section) and cannot be selected.
- However, if applicants previously selected the program before it was unpublished, the program will be permitted in their application during the “Submit” process.
Programs that are no longer offered, and for which applications are not being received, should be closed and unpublished. These will be deleted from the application upon cycle start-up.
